Library of Congress Classification System
The DeVry Alpharetta Library classifies its material according to the system devised by the Library of Congress. This is sometimes referred to as LC classification. Call numbers begin with a single letter, two letters, or sometimes three, followed by a series of numbers. Books are shelved according to the letters first, then the numbers. An outline of the main classes in the Library of Congress system is given here.
